An actor starring in the West End production of Chicago has been hailed a hero after rescuing three people from a blazing building.

Adam Stafford, who plays Amos Hart in the musical, spotted smoke coming from a house in Berkshire, England and dashed inside to raise the alarm.

The residents escaped unscathed - and Stafford, who was in a fire as a teenager, is just happy he could help.

He tells Britain's Evening Standard, "Once you've been in a fire you know the first priority is human life. I just knew I needed to get people out."

The recent fire was allegedly caused by an electrical fault.
